Those different colored disks we used to play catch with. The Frisbee. A spring and summertime fun toy for outdoor use. It gracefully floated in the air as we flicked our wrist and tossed it. Easy to throw, easy to catch. Even our pet dogs managed to catch it as the jaws opened and closed on the fun toy. Beaches and parks were the most popular places where the fun was played. Richard threw it to his pet dog but another dog stepped in and caught in the park one day. Rachel, the owner of the other dog apologized as he laughed out loud and said "no problem". That was how they originally met that day. The rest of the afternoon was spent together as the four them got along by this unexpected meeting. The Frisbee was tossed around once again after the two of them joined each other for an outdoor barbeque. They said goodbye to each other before leaving the park without expectations of meeting again. It was just a fun day that had them leave with a smile. Richard went to the beach without his dog a few weekends later. However he still brought with him, the Frisbee. Nobody was there to play catch with, but he still threw it just to see his favorite toy fly through the air. Then he would go find it and pick it back up. One throw went farther than he expected as it headed towards the ocean beyond the sand. A young lady who was standing in the shallow water saw the red flying disk coming her way. It was caught in her hand and she knew somehow it must have been lost by the owner. Rachel walked back onto the beach as she held up the red disk. She saw a young man waving his arms about twenty yards away. They both smiled at this crazy meeting once again when she returned his toy. Catch was played for the rest of day and this time they exchanged phone numbers before leaving the beach. Three years later during the summer months, there was an outdoor wedding. A red disk flew across the air as the bride and groom played a familiar game of catch. Maybe a toy has a way of bringing a couple together. Case in point in a short love story about Richard and Rachel along with a very special item, the Frisbee....
